Neck Seals

The standard design neck seal found on most drysuits offers a {10in | 252mm} mounting diameter at the base, three different latex thickness options, and a variety of choices for neck sizing - see sizing chart below. As a general rule, the seal opening should be trimmed to be no smaller than 80% (i.e. maximum of 20% less) than your actual measurement of the relaxed neck circumference, tighter than that could cut off blood flow to your brain.

• Flexible (FD): 0.5mm to 0.7mm - More flexible with more stretch than the standard
• Standard (GD): 0.7mm to 1.0mm - Usual thickness found on most seals
• HeavyDuty (HD): 1.0mm to 1.4mm - Thicker, thus more durable, but less comfortable

We offer this Conical Inner Neck Seal design with an 20cm (8-inch) mounting diameter that is found on Viking brand and many other brand drysuits. If you are going to glue the seal to the inner part of the suit the inner seal design may work better, although some people still prefer inner mounting a standard bellows design neck seal. Conical inner neck seals are available only in 0.7-1.0mm standard thickness and two sizes; the medium is 25cm (10-inch) in circumference and fits 28-35cm (11-inch to 13-inch) necks, the large is 30cm (12-inch) circumference and fits 33-40cm (13-inch to 16-inch) necks.
